My Favorite Subject is Lunch

I’m always so disappointed,
When I read the lunch menu wrong.
It’s hard to eat my spaghetti when
I wanted tacos all day long.
I’ve thought about nothing but,
Meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
Green Jell-O and red Jell-O,
Chef salad with tomatoes.
Some of my favorites are
Cheeseburgers and French fries.
Hearing chicken nugget day,
Brings tears of joy to my eyes.
Peanut butter and jelly,
Carrot sticks with ranch to dip,
Messy
Bar-b-que chicken,
Chilly chocolate milk to sip.
Lunch is almost over.
I’ll think about tomorrow.
Then reread the school lunch menu
To avoid today’s great sorrow.
