To The Museum
By Steffani H. Gilligan
The yellow bus moves slowly,
Like an airplane on a runway.
We’re going on a field trip.
I think it will be a fun day.
Quiet at the symphony.
Running all around the park.
Walking along the beach.
Watching movies in the dark.
We arrive at the circus,
And see the flags and banners.
We’ll be good at the museum.
We all have excellent manners.
The bus ride is always long.
But the driver drives well; I’ll bet.
Patient no more. The children ask,
“Oh, teacher ... are we there yet?”
