Friday Blues

By Steffani H. Gilligan

I am not feeling well.
I think I must be sick.
If I could go call my mom,
She’d rush me home so quick.

Maybe it’s the measles.
Or possibly the flu?
Don’t you get too close to me.
I just might give it to you.

I called my mom and told her
"I think I need some rest."
She told me to go back to class
And take my spelling test.
